Avonmore Poll Merinos – More Meat. More Wool. More Profit.
We invite you to visit Avonmore Poll Merinos at the 2026 Loddon Valley Field Day and see how our genetics can enhance your flock’s performance.
Avonmore Poll Merinos is based at Avonmore and Fairley, Northern Vic, running 1,400 stud ewes with complete focus on breeding Merino sheep that perform under commercial conditions.

Our breeding direction is centred on structure, fertility, soft, white well-nourished, crimpy wool, and carcase quality, producing large-framed, plain-bodied sheep that grow, cut and last. In 2024 we were proud to purchase the top-priced Merino ram in Australia, further strengthening our genetic base and performance direction.

Performance Snapshot:
  • Average fleece cut 8 kg at 20.5 micron
  • Lambing rates up to 170 % at marking
  • Lambs: Dressing 46–47 %, 35.5 kg top dress out with no processor penalties
  • Rams: > 100 kg liveweight, tops 12 mm fat, 46 cm² EMA

We’re proud to breed balanced Merinos that deliver profit through productivity — rams ready to work, ewes that rear, and wool that pays.
Visit us at Serpentine to inspect our 2025 draft and talk with us about practical, profitable genetics.
